Two competition weekends. One registration page. Choose your division and plan travel for its scheduled weekend.
January 16–17, 2027: Lil Buckaroo, Novice, Snowboard, Century and Women’s.
January 23–24, 2027: All-Around, Sport, Open and PRO.
Choose your competition path
PRO, Sport, Women’s, Snowboard and All-Around are PRO Tour divisions, with $200 entry per named team. Women’s and Snowboard compete on the first weekend; All-Around, Sport and PRO compete on the second. Eligible Team PRO Card teams can earn Tour points on their division’s scheduled weekend.
Community divisions are Lil Buckaroo ($75), Novice ($150) and Century ($150). They do not earn Tour points or qualify for the Championship Finals. Community divisions compete for buckles and sponsor prizes; Bozeman’s Novice division also receives its published cash awards.
OPEN Division: Bozeman only
$200 per team. Limited to 30 entries. OPEN offers athletes another opportunity to compete and win podium prize money at Bozeman Gallatin Skijor. It is an event-only division and does not award PRO Skijor Tour points or qualify teams for the Championship Finals, even if a competitor holds a Team PRO Card.
To pursue Tour points, register in PRO, Sport, Women's, Snowboard or All-Around and meet the Team PRO Card and Tour eligibility requirements. OPEN runs January 23–24. Check the cash payouts page for its published award schedule; detailed race times will be announced by Bozeman Gallatin Skijor. Existing safety and participant limits apply. Use a separately named team when entering a different division.
Registration capacity: hard division caps
Bozeman Gallatin Skijor has 282 total team entries across its competition divisions. Registration closes separately when each division reaches its cap:
- PRO: 40 teams
- Sport: 50 teams
- Women's: 30 teams
- Snowboard: 30 teams
- All-Around: 20 teams
- OPEN: 30 teams
- Novice: 50 teams
- Century: 12 teams
- Lil Buckaroo: 20 teams
These limits will be enforced. Remaining inventory accounts for registrations already reserved. Register early to secure your place.
Team PRO Card: optional for event entry, required for Tour points
You may enter a single event without a Team PRO Card and remain eligible for that event's podium, prizes and applicable cash payouts. A separately named team must purchase its own $50 Team PRO Card to earn Tour points, appear in season standings and pursue qualification for the Lake Tahoe Championship Finals. The 2027 Tour declaration deadline is January 15, 2027. Team PRO Cards must be purchased and matched to the exact named team by that date.
What you will need
Be prepared to provide the team name; division; horse, rider and skier/snowboarder names; email and cell number for both athletes; and the team's primary contact. You may also add a biography, photos, video, social links and athlete sponsors for your public Meet the Teams profile.
Registering multiple teams or events? Add each team/event entry to the cart and complete one checkout. A separately named team requires its own registration and, when declaring for Tour points, its own Team PRO Card.
Big Air: a crowd favorite with cameras rolling
$35 per entry. Twelve entry slots per event. Maximum two entries per skier or snowboarder per event. The field may be filled by six athletes if each purchases two entries. Register each individual athlete entry separately. Use the skier or snowboarder’s name as the entry name.
For experienced skiers and snowboarders who are skilled and comfortable safely performing and landing aerial stunts after a horse-towed rope approach to a large kicker. Describe your aerial experience, share skill evidence and accept the safety acknowledgment. Registration reserves an entry, with participation subject to staff safety approval, briefing requirements and conditions.
Bring the skill and own the moment. Big Air is a heavily photographed and filmed highlight of the weekend. Minimum guaranteed Big Air cash: $1,750 total at this event, paid 1st–4th: $700 / $525 / $350 / $175 (40% / 30% / 20% / 10%). First-place buckles and sponsor prizes add to the excitement. Detailed schedules will be announced. This separate competition does not award Tour points, confer Championship Finals qualification or require a Team PRO Card.
Bozeman Big Air: January 23–24, 2027. The 12 Big Air entry slots are separate from the 282 racing-team cap.
Already skiing or snowboarding here? If you are skilled and comfortable safely executing Big Air tricks and landings after a horse-towed approach to a large kicker, add Big Air for more fun, fan exposure and a chance at a buckle and cash payouts. $35 per entry, 12 entries per event, maximum two per athlete. Skill evidence and staff safety approval are required. Event staff confirm horse and rider pairings and workload before competition. Big Air guarantees $1,750 total here: $700 / $525 / $350 / $175 for 1st–4th. Choose your Big Air event.
Big Air is an individual athlete entry
Your athlete name is your entry name. Big Air cash payouts belong to the placed skier or snowboarder.
Choose one: Request a horse and rider provided by PRO Skijor, or arrange your own pairing with a horse and rider already attending and entered in other divisions at this event. Horse and rider details are optional when registering.
If arranging your own pairing, coordinate with your chosen horse and rider and make sure you are together at the Big Air start line at the scheduled time. If requesting a pairing, check in at the competitor briefing for your assignment and instructions. Event staff confirm all pairings, availability and workload. Skill evidence and staff safety approval are required.
$35 per athlete entry, 12 slots per event, maximum two entries per skier or snowboarder. Register each entry separately.
